S.E.X. Review by Jessie~ Drifting Sands

As he approaches his fortieth birthday, Justin Warfield feels alone, drifting like the sand that blows along the beach near his family's hotel. He has done exactly as his father wanted. Married the right girl and carried on the family tradition of running the Warfield Hotel. On paper things seem perfect, but happiness hasn't been a part of his life for a very long time.

Marcus Drummond once spent a summer with his best friend Peter at the Warfield Hotel and fell hard for Peter's much older brother. Five years later he's back, and this time he hopes that Justin will see him as more than his kid brother's friend.

Sparks fly when the two meet again, but there are a few things standing in their way. The closet that Justin has himself buried in and someone on a killing spree, dumping bodies on the Warfield beach . . . victims that indicate Justin may be involved in some way.

Drifting Sands (The Warfield Hotel Mysteries) by C.J. Baty was a true joy to read.  The setting was pre-civil war plantation style hotel on the beach of Beaufort, South Carolina.  Peter the eldest Warfield was running the hotel while he waited on his bother Peter to finish school.

Peter and his friend Marcus come back to the Warfield to find a murder commented near the hotel. As things become more serious, it seems Justin is somehow involved in it all or is he really. Each man has a reason to find the truth but will it be what they think in the end.

Let me just say, I love reading this first one of the series and look forward to the next one Crashing Waves. This is a continuing story, so I strongly recommend reading them in order.

This is for anyone who loves a truly good mystery.  Ms. Baty keeps you guessing throughout the entire book. There is a romantic element to the story as well that is well thought out and truly moves the story forward.  I hope you will check this book out and enjoy it as much as I did.
